The Originals

Having an idea is one thing. Turning it into reality is, however, apt to be somewhat more challenging. But for anyone or anything that succeeds in breaking new ground, enduring fame is assured. Or is it? We look at four cars that not only broke the mould but also shaped new ones, yet which (with […]

Trans-Europe Express (Delivery) – Part Two

You’ll find plenty of motoring journalists who are real professors of this subject. They love to get under the bonnet and tinker with the oily bits or thoroughly go through testing procedures point by point. Honestly, I admire them for being so richly invested in the subject matter but if somebody tried to make me […]

“All of Us” – filmed on the Isle of Skye

There are a plethora of reasons why we love working with Influx Magazine. From the different people we meet, to the amazing (and sometimes utterly bonkers) cars we are somehow allowed to work with. But most of all, it’s the freedom to express yourself.

All of Influx’s contributors are encouraged to flex their creative muscles and shamelessly indulge their passions. Whether they’re writing an article, photographing a collection of classic cars of producing a short film for the monthly editions.

Cars, bikes and motoring culture is the core of Influx’s mission but at the heart of it all is people.

And for us, what we find really fascinating, is the emotion and attachment people have with their cars and bikes.

As fellow “petrol heads” we experience it as well.

All-New BMW 8-Series Convertible

When the initial BMW 8-series showed up, it made a massive impact with its impressive wedge shape. It didn’t look like any other BMW of the time and has been well-liked ever since. This BMW 8-series is a different kettle of fish, though, being more of an heir and a rebranding of the 6-series than […]

Trans Europe Express (Delivery) – Part One

If you’ve ever met me before 8am – and some of you have – you’d probably have all manner of descriptive terms by which to describe me, but “grumpy” is a word that I suspect the majority of you would use. It’s 4am on an industrial park in Reading and my new business is on […]

If there’s one thing that always provokes a positive emotional response on Influx, it’s nostalgia. The rose-tinted view of everything just being better back in the old days when life was fun, cars were mechanical, broke down a lot, and drivers did all the work themselves. The thing is, tech is moving on and is […]

Paul Bracq

Paul Bracq with Turbo

Some car designers will forever be associated with one brand or have a style all of their own but the legendary Paul Bracq is not only a talented car designer but a sculptor, artist and even had a hand in designing an iconic train. As an automotive costumier he set the style for not one, […]

TT turns 21

It’s hard to believe that the Audi TT turns 21 this year. You’d never guess that this fresh-faced coupé dates back to the era of Cool Britannia and the Spice Girls, but it first appeared in 1998. In fact, its roots stretch even further back, as the production car is a remarkably faithful facsimile of […]

Smart Roadster and Roadster Coupe

For sports car enthusiasts, things just ain’t what they used to be, what with ever more strictly policed speed limits, tighter controls on emissions, high fuel prices and, er, imaginative rates of Vehicle Excise Duty to contend with. Although rumours of the sports car’s demise are somewhat premature, the days of the big-engined, gas guzzler […]

Sunshine, speed and the beautiful South with Porsche’s 718 Boxster

Porsche 718 boxster

You’ll have to excuse me for a paragraph or two here because I need to put some words aside to give myself a big pat on the back. This time, I’ve nailed it. The location, the car, the weather – it’s all come together and produced one of the best driving excursions of my life. […]
